After a childhood and adolescence spent listening to such greats as Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans and Chick Corea, I went to study jazz-piano and other stuff at Berklee College of Music in Boston, before returning to UK, where I played with a number of different touring bands, before landing a contract with MCA Records as part of a pop duo called Blue Mercedes. We had a UK top 25 hit and a number one US Billboard dance chart hit for five weeks, as well as a top 75 US hit. After that, I went into club-dance production and had the first release on EMI's UK dance label, Positiva. Subsequently, I spent a lot of time producing tracks in my small London studio, including working with Down To The Bone just before their first album. I also had lots of other dance music releases before returning to jazz influences, this time with an acid-jazz project called A-One. This led to a liaison with New York based Instinct Records and two album releases on that label, called "Dream Your Dream" and "Good To Go", plus various tracks on lots of compilation albums. These gained me quite a lot of air-play both in the US and in the UK on Jazz FM, a top 45 smooth-jazz chart hit, and a UK MOBO award nomination as Best Jazz Act.

I'm a piano-player and keyboardist in London; Angel-Islington to be precise. I make tracks in my small studio and play around town a bit, and when I'm not doing that, teach music to aspiring young pop, rock and jazz musicians in a college. I have been travelling once or twice a year to Brazil in the last few years, as my partner is Brazilian, and I adore the music and other aspects of the culture they have. In fact, apart from their language, I am trying to learn the Cavaquinho now (a kind of Brazilian guitar typical of the music), but I somehow doubt I will be playing it on one of my albums anytime soon!
