IN CHRIST ALONE, MY HOPE IS FOUND,
HE IS MY LIGHT, MY STRENGTH, MY SONG.
THIS CORNERSTONE, THIS SOLID GROUND,
FIRM THROUGH THE FIERCEST DROUGHT AND STORM.
WHAT HEIGHTS OF LOVE,
WHAT DEPTHS OF PEACE,
WHEN FEARS ARE STILLED,
WHEN STRIVINGS CEASE.
MY COMFORTER, MY ALL IN ALL.
HERE IN THE LOVE OF CHRIST I STAND.

ABOUT ME
I am a committed Christian and servant of Jesus. That's my priority. I am pleased to proclaim it and promote it, graciously I hope.
Agewise I call myself kinda mature, but I'm really kind of an older guy with a young heart.
I'm retired from earning a living, but now so busy I don't know how I found the time to work.
I've been blessed with a great family, one wife, two sons, one daughter, all happily married, and one amazing three year old granddaughter, with friends and Christian brothers and sisters too long to list but great to know.
I started to learn jazz guitar less than 2 years ago from a great guy and gifted jazz guitar player. Some say I am too old to learn and my teacher jokes that he is too old to teach...
but that ain't true....
IT'S NEVER TOO LATE FOR JAZZ,
AND IT'S NEVER TOO LATE FOR JESUS.
BOOKS
The Bible,
and currently jazz guitar tutor books on progressions, arpeggios, licks, straight ahead jazz guitar standards, comping and soloing tutors,
poetry.
MUSIC
"Straight Ahead" jazz guitar..(at least that's what I thought until my teacher told me there is also some swing and bebop and cool jazz in there too...); I love Joe Pass, Jimmy Bruno, Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, Martin Taylor, singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Diana Krall; I also love blues, all kinds, especially Mississippi Delta Blues...Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Lightin' Hopkins, Blind Willie McTell, Mississippi Minnie, classical guitarists Julian Bream and John Williams.
But jazz guitar is my favorite, a discovery made late in my life.
MOVIES
Not a lot.....Enjoy old movies like To Kill a Mocking Bird, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, not so old like The Green Mile, Shaw Shank Redemption

Sorry, I haven't been to JM much. Getting into school to study to become a nurse, and I have a lot of promoting to do for my friend Luther B who is coming out with a new CD. But I remember you in my prayers, and I hope all is well with you and your family. God Bless you dear one,
I can't come to Jazz Matrix without at least stopping by to see you. I hope you are doing well. I'll be starting school in the Spring, (April 7th). Please pray for me, that God will open my brain to absorb all that I need to know to become a good nurse. I haven't studied for a class, in a long time.
Well, I am still promoting Luther B's music, he is such a talent, and loves the Lord too. He will be releasing his new CD this month.
I hope all is well in your camp. Let me know how you and the family are doing. Kiss those grand babies for me.
G'day Tom...I was just cruisin' by to see what you're up to - not getting into mischief, hahah!! I hope you had a nice time away and are feeling well...all's good here - still hot, but we had some blessed rain too - most welcome, that was! Anyway, enjoy your week, me mate and we'll catch up again soon...
Hi in reply, Tom! Well, thus far it's been quite ok, I must say. And you? Treating the 335, I hope? Eating health food? Reading some Shakespeare? Finnegan's wake? In other words, hope all is well over there! I've been practicing a lot, so no new recordings yet. Also been learning a 3D program, been working on creating a copy of my les on the computer. Works excellently! I saw a concert a few days ago at the local jazz club, 'Miles Davis Nonet' (not the original, but some of sweden's finest, doing the complete set of recordings from -49, the tunes and arrangements which then became the classic lp 'Birth of the cool'. What a night, Boplicity played according to the original arrangement, nine man horn band, with tuba. Excellent. Somebody evudently found the original arrangements in a box in Davis' lawyer's attic, they where printed, found their way to stockholm, and now I have actually heard it. Just like the record, Miles was almost present in the room.
Peace
Skei (the just had late lunch one)

Hello my friend,
I'm on one of my "rare" quick pop-ins!
How are you? and how is 2010, MMX the X rated double M, treating you? Be well and happy and Boppin' merrily and groovely along. My headphones are connected to my laptop and Take 5/3 is sounding great!
Great to hear from ya and the year is going really well for ya...another grandchild in a few days -wow, your kids are certainly productive and yeah, Michael's a grand name! The Tigressa has been very quiet, don't hear from her much at all, but she told me her dad was in hospital again a couple of weeks back - not sure if he's still there. She has been sick too, but didn't say what was wrong....hasn't been in the Matrix for months! I will pass on your Love and best wishes to her, next time she decides to drop in on me! :) As for me...my year has been much the same as the last - doing a few gigs here and there, with the band, as well as solo. Very hot here and we're on fire alert again! I hope you will have a fabulous trip away - I'm sure you will enjoy every bit of it! Thanks for your support, you're doing a tremendous job for the MLIFC...good on ya - and God Bless, my dear friend!
Sorry you haven't heard from me. It's been a while since I been here on JM, but I think of you often, how are you and those sweet grandbabies? I know they are such a delight to your soul.
I been busy networking on another site,
it's really cool. I created a Fan Page there for Luther, you should check it out when you get a chance. I can create a Fan page there for you too if you want me to.
Use this link to sign up for Free. I think you'll love it.
Tom: thank you kindly for your beautiful words, prayers and testimony. I, too, am working so much on a new music teaching venture and keeping so busy.
My prayers and thoughts for you and your dear family,,,what a blessing. Cynthia
