IN CHRIST ALONE, MY HOPE IS FOUND,
HE IS MY LIGHT, MY STRENGTH, MY SONG.
THIS CORNERSTONE, THIS SOLID GROUND,
FIRM THROUGH THE FIERCEST DROUGHT AND STORM.
WHAT HEIGHTS OF LOVE,
WHAT DEPTHS OF PEACE,
WHEN FEARS ARE STILLED,
WHEN STRIVINGS CEASE.
MY COMFORTER, MY ALL IN ALL.
HERE IN THE LOVE OF CHRIST I STAND.

ABOUT ME
I am a committed Christian and servant of Jesus. That's my priority. I am pleased to proclaim it and promote it, graciously I hope.
Agewise I call myself kinda mature, but I'm really kind of an older guy with a young heart.
I'm retired from earning a living, but now so busy I don't know how I found the time to work.
I've been blessed with a great family, one wife, two sons, one daughter, all happily married, and one amazing three year old granddaughter, with friends and Christian brothers and sisters too long to list but great to know.
I started to learn jazz guitar less than 2 years ago from a great guy and gifted jazz guitar player. Some say I am too old to learn and my teacher jokes that he is too old to teach...
but that ain't true....
IT'S NEVER TOO LATE FOR JAZZ,
AND IT'S NEVER TOO LATE FOR JESUS.
BOOKS
The Bible,
and currently jazz guitar tutor books on progressions, arpeggios, licks, straight ahead jazz guitar standards, comping and soloing tutors,
poetry.
MUSIC
"Straight Ahead" jazz guitar..(at least that's what I thought until my teacher told me there is also some swing and bebop and cool jazz in there too...); I love Joe Pass, Jimmy Bruno, Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall, Martin Taylor, singers like Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Diana Krall; I also love blues, all kinds, especially Mississippi Delta Blues...Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Lightin' Hopkins, Blind Willie McTell, Mississippi Minnie, classical guitarists Julian Bream and John Williams.
But jazz guitar is my favorite, a discovery made late in my life.
MOVIES
Not a lot.....Enjoy old movies like To Kill a Mocking Bird, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, not so old like The Green Mile, Shaw Shank Redemption

Just checking if you're in. Well, I see you're out & about. Hope all is ok, which I suppose it is. Also hope you find the time to fondle that guitar once in a while. They need personal contact you know, or they just might lose their jazz...
I am sorry that I have not been in touch. I have been going through some things but God has been with me all the way. I miss being here on the Matrix, and have been coming back lately to see what's new. I'm glad to see you are still here.
Its been awhile ~ been thru some tough stuff. Now living in S.W. Oklahoma. Full time Asst. Chef ~ part time ranch hand. You were saying about how beautiful Ireland is ~ You should see S.W Oklahoma. I put myself in self exile - With the passing of my Father & all petty crap from my siblings added to what my better half and I were going thru ~ I left Said enough is enough ~ Have freinds living here ~ Now with Gods Help & intervention the Mrs. & I have worked things out. Will be returning to Central PA. in about a month. Got turned onto a radio station caled AIR1 - alternitive christain radio - they play a band called RED alot & they have a song titled Start Again ~ sent a link to better half - she called and was crying and wants to do just that ~ so all is working out. Just recently picked up my guitar (Well 1 of 5 ) again after almost a year of letting it collect dust. Slowly getting in the swing of it . For now Peace out and God Bless my Brother
Hey Bro, slidething, how are you? I'm thinkin' of you an' prayin' for you man. What's the news from Lemoyne?
Much the same as any where else, Ireland's goin' thro' a tough time job-wise and finance wise. But the countryside is great, the hills, the rivers, the beaches are still there lookin' good. God is the same and He's put a song in our hearts. Thank God for the music!
