Emmy nominated publicist Cheryl Hughey developed Cheryl Hughey Promotions LLC after serving as jazz club publicist for legends like the Yellowjackets, Jane Monheit, Ann Hampton Callaway, Steve Tyrell, the Clayton Brothers, Russell Gunn, Rebirth Brass Band and many more. With over a decade of freelance writing/marketing experience that includes service as an indie label publicist, bookings/promo for crooner Kevin Mahogany's label (Mahogany Jazz), television producer, radio promoter, jazz news editor, newspaper journalist and nationally published magazine writer, Cheryl understands the ever changing landscape of music.
WHO WE ARE
Originally trained as a musician and vocalist, Cheryl Hughey saw the need to reach beyond the standardized approach to selling music and developed a proactive publicity/promotions firm that combines traditional methods with a hi-tech approach to identify and achieve individualistic client-oriented goals. Cheryl Hughey Promotions LLC (CHP) has built a solid reputation by interweaving traditional press like radio, print and television with the alternative/underground pipeline. From concerts featuring pop acts Kool & the Gang and Jody Watley to work with straight ahead/gothic pianist Rachel Z, we serve a wide range of music genres.
